As some of you may know, I had insomnia a couple of nights ago, and mainlined the BBC coverage of election night 1997. The experience was quite interesting - and inspiring. ;)

This fic was born out of that coverage, and specifically out of the fact that Hague and Portillo were practically inseparable at Conservative Central Office that night.
